Creating a Personal Blog on Hashnode

How to setup a personal blog on Hashnode

Before creating a personal blog, here are some prerequisites needed:

  • A Hashnode account.

  • A domain name (Optional).

Create an Account

Here is how to create an account on Hashnode:

  1. Click on the Get started - it's free button or visits

3. Enter your preferred email address to log in with a magic link or sign in with your favorite social network (Google, GitHub, LinkedIn, Facebook & Apple).

4. If you choose to enter the email address instead, you will receive a secure link in your email inbox. Click on the link to continue the signup process.

5. Complete your profile by adding your Full name, Hashnode username, and Tagline.

6. Tell us about yourself so we can personalize your Hashnode experience.

7. You have now created an account on Hashnode; click on the Next button to continue the blog creation process.

Create a Personal Blog

You can choose to host your blog on the Hashnode subdomain or map a custom domain that you have purchased.

  1. If you want your blog to be hosted on Hashnode's subdomain i.e, input the most preferred name for your blog in the Hashnode's subdomain section or click on the Map my custom domain button to add your own domain i.e or

If you selected Hashnode's subdomain, enter your preferred subdomain name and click the Next button to complete the blog creation process.

2. Your blog is now created; click on the link to access your blog and manage your blog from your dashboard.

Customize your blog

  1. Add a display name for your blog. This will be displayed in your blog's header

2. Choose a header color for your blog.

3. Pick your blog homepage layout, you can select from the magazine, stacked, and grid layouts.

4. Follow some of your favorite technologies to personalize your feed and discover more content.

5. Click on the Finish button to complete the onboarding process.
