Use any of these shortcuts at the beginning of a new line or existing content:

Enter <code>*</code>, <code>-</code>, or <code>+</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create a bulleted or unordered list.

Enter <code>1.</code>, <code>a.</code>, or <code>i.</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create a numbered or ordered list.

Enter <code>#</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create an H1 heading.

Enter <code>##</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create an H2 sub-heading.

Enter <code>###</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create an H3 sub-heading.

Enter <code>####</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create an H4 sub-heading.

Enter <code>&gt;</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create a quote block.

Enter <code>---</code> to create a divider. The last <code>-</code> will trigger the divider.

- Enter <code>*</code>, <code>-</code>, or <code>+</code> followed by <code>space</code> to create a bulleted or unordered list.

Try the following before writing a text or on a selected text:

Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>B</code> to make the text bold.

Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>I</code> to make the text italic.

Select the text and press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>K</code> to create a <a href="http://hn.new" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">hyperlink</a>, or paste a link on a highlighted word or sentence.

Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>E</code> to create an <code>inline</code> code.

Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>tab</code> to exit a list or nested list.

Press <code>shift</code> + <code>up/down arrow keys</code> to highlight multiple lines of content.

- Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>B</code> to make the text bold.
- Press <code>cmd/ctrl</code> + <code>I</code> to make the text italic.

- <code>Opt+1</code> - To format the selected text as Heading 1

Hint 💡: Press the <code>ESC</code> key to dismiss the @-user menu if you want to type @ within your article.
